I'm so glad you chose to train with me!
A little about me...I started playing volleyball in the 8th grade and was on the "C" team. I had NO skills but was athletic and coachable. My first sport was basketball until my senior year. UTSA was highly interested but I realized that volleyball was a sport I wanted to pursue. I also had offers for track and field as well.
My freshman year in high school, I was able to play, but only front row because my skillset was very low. As a sophomore, I was noticed as I challenged a senior during a hitting drill. She was blocked by me and THEN the coach 'saw' my potential.
It was up from there! I made Varsity my last two years of high school. I was MVP of the district as a senior. I walked on to a Div 1 Junior College and received MVP honors my second year. I then received another volleyball scholarship to Concordia Lutheran College now Concordia University Austin. I continued my career with them in volleyball and basketball graduating with my Business Management degree. Many years later, I returned to get my Masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction.
I have never stopped playing volleyball and was considered a late bloomer. I tried out for the Women's Olympic volleyball team where I had the opportunity to play in Switzerland for three years.
I later married and had my second daughter. I then realized that I wanted to coach. That was 13 years ago and am still coaching club teams while at Concordia High School for the last six years.
This journey has been pretty awesome! From playing with international players to coaching young players to love this sport. I absolutely LOVE what I do.
